Can I use VoIP (Voice over IP) lines with fire systems?
If you have VoIP phone lines, there are two main communication options for your fire system: 1) FDNY-approved Managed Facility Voice Network (MFVN), if available through your telecommunications carrier 2) Network/Cellular Communicator.

What are the main components of a commercial fire alarm system?
At a minimum, all commercial fire alarm systems have a Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP), initiating devices and system monitoring done by an approved monitoring center. Depending on the commercial space’s occupancy classification and local codes, a commercial fire alarm systems may also have notification devices, emergency control function interfaces and remote annunciators.
